Can I download Media Organizer?
Not yet. It is in development.
Frequently askedWill Media Organizer change or delete my recordings?
No. Scanning only reads, and nothing is renamed, moved or deleted unless you ask for it.
Frequently askedDoes it upload anything or need an account?
No. The catalog stays on your computer, and the app does not connect to the internet.
Frequently askedCan I find a clip on a drive that is not connected?
Yes. Every drive stays in the library after you unplug it.
Frequently askedWhich cameras does it work with?
Files from any camera are catalogued; Media Organizer knows the cards and companion files of the main camera makers.
Frequently askedWhich video editors does it work with?
DaVinci Resolve, fully. Other editors can use the prepared files.
Frequently askedDoes it compare file contents to find duplicates and copies?
Only if you let it. By default it matches name, size and modified time; with content fingerprints on, a renamed copy counts too.
Frequently askedIs there a Mac version?
No. Media Organizer runs on Windows.
Frequently askedWhere are my LRV, THM and SRT files in the library?
They are shown as icons after the recording they belong to, and the + before its name lists them under it; View > Show all files lists them as rows.
Frequently askedWhy is a picture from my drive not in the library?
It sits in a folder without footage or music, so it was left out; Files left out… on the drive's right-click menu brings it in.
Frequently askedDoes Media Organizer keep my LRV, THM, SRT and XML files?
Yes, when they sit next to the recording they belong to.
Frequently askedCan an exported MP4 count as a copy of my original?
Yes, once you confirm the pair and turn it on for that camera family.
Frequently askedWhy does a copy of my clip not count?
Usually a companion file is missing on that drive.
Frequently askedI moved or renamed files outside Media Organizer. Do I lose my tags?
No. Files moved to other folders on the same drive keep their records; renamed files do once their fingerprint is made.
