Beta programme

Two Left Wheels 360 is free during the beta

Use it for personal and commercial projects while the beta runs. Help us test it, and you keep it free for personal use, for life.

Three ways to earn lifetime personal use

Make a useful testing contribution to Two Left Wheels 360. Registration and downloading alone do not qualify. There are no forms to fill in: everything goes through Report a problem in the app.

Easiest

Report a bug and retest the fix

Report a problem from the app. Once we have confirmed the bug and sent you a build with the fix, test it again and tell us how it went.

The steps

Most useful

Send camera test footage

Record every 360 mode of your camera while it moves, ZIP the card and send us a private download link. Not needed right now: Insta360 X4.

The steps

Case by case

Something else that helps

We may also award it for another contribution that materially improves Two Left Wheels 360. These decisions are made individually and are not a guaranteed qualification route.

Positive reviews and public promotion are never required.

Report a bug and retest the fix

  1. Use Report a problem in Two Left Wheels 360 to describe a problem and approve the diagnostic information prepared by the application.
  2. Two Left Wheels confirms that the report describes an actual software bug.
  3. After we provide a build containing the fix, test the same problem again.
  4. Send another report from that build with fresh diagnostic information and tell us whether the problem is fixed, still present, or has changed.

Mention the original report number if it is handy, but do not worry about exact titles or formatting. We can associate the reports manually. The contribution qualifies after we confirm both the original bug and the completed retest.

How to report a problem from the app

Send camera test footage

You qualify by sending a complete, usable sample set from any 360 camera that is not on the list below when you submit your report. Your camera can qualify even if Two Left Wheels 360 already supports it—we may still need more footage from that model.

Not needed right now: Insta360 X4

This list tells you only whether we currently need more sample footage. It is not the list of cameras supported by the application. If your camera is not listed, you may submit it. If we change the list later, that will not disqualify a report received while your camera was eligible.

Before you record, read the terms for camera footage: we keep the archive permanently and use it privately.

  1. Start with a freshly formatted memory card so it contains only the test material.
  2. Record at least 10 seconds in every relevant 360 video mode and format the camera supports. The camera itself must keep moving throughout each recording so we can test stabilization.
  3. At minimum, hold the camera or put it on a suitable stick and walk with it. Walking around a camera that remains in one place is not enough. A safe real-world recording, such as footage from a mounted camera during a motorcycle ride, bicycle ride, or other moving activity, is even more useful.
  4. Include the camera's 360 photo modes and any 360 HDR, high-frame-rate, slow-motion, timelapse, or manufacturer-specific modes it offers.
  5. ZIP the complete contents of the memory card without renaming, converting, moving, or removing files.
  6. Tell us the camera model, firmware version, and which modes you recorded. Put this information wherever it is convenient: in the report or in a note inside the ZIP.
  7. Upload the ZIP somewhere it can be downloaded privately. If you do not have a way to do that, let us know and we will provide an upload method.
  8. Use Report a problem in Two Left Wheels 360, approve the diagnostic information prepared by the application, and include the private download link in your message.

There is no required report title, filename, message template, or copied declaration. We will review the archive and contact you if something essential is missing. Single-lens, webcam, and livestreaming modes are not needed unless we specifically ask for them.

What you get

If your contribution is accepted, your verified Two Left Wheels account receives lifetime personal-use access to future versions. The reward is non-transferable and does not include future commercial use.

Two Left Wheels reviews contributions manually. When yours is accepted, we add the lifetime personal-use entitlement to the verified account connected to your report and send you a confirmation email. You can also see the entitlement on the Two Left Wheels website.

During the beta programme, beta versions may be used for personal and commercial projects. Work completed during that period remains yours to use and distribute. Continued commercial use of the software after the beta may require a paid commercial licence; the lifetime tester reward covers personal use only.

Terms for camera footage

The archive will be retained permanently and used privately by Two Left Wheels for lawful purposes related to its products and business, including development, compatibility work, testing, debugging, support, documentation preparation, and internal demonstrations. It may be shared privately with contractors or service providers when necessary and subject to appropriate confidentiality and data-protection obligations.

We will not publish the footage or photographs, distribute them to the public, or use them in public advertising, promotion, or demonstrations without asking you separately.

Use a clean card. Do not include unrelated recordings or confidential material, and avoid recording other identifiable people where practical. Remember that you may appear in 360-degree footage. You must own or control the rights needed to share everything you submit. By submitting the archive through the reporting process, you grant Two Left Wheels the permanent private-use licence described above. See the Privacy page for the complete camera-sample terms.
