Do I have to export my recordings first?

No. Two Left Wheels 360 presents your original recordings to your editor as stitched MOV files and stitches each frame when the editor reads it. You can start editing as soon as you add the recordings, and only what you use is rendered at full resolution. See How Two Left Wheels 360 works.
