Troubleshooting
Recordings show Drive stopped: start the drive from the tray icon, or with Start drive under Troubleshooting in ☰, System settings….
Recordings show Source missing: the recording was moved or renamed, or its disk is not connected. Reconnect the disk or use Find moved files…. See Manage editing packs and moved recordings.
A recording will not open because the camera lost power or crashed while recording: Two Left Wheels 360 lists it in the Damaged recordings window when you add it, with how much a repair keeps, and Repair selected makes a playable copy beside it, named …-repaired, which goes into the editing pack. It recovers recordings that Insta360's own File Repair tool cannot. The original is never changed. A repaired recording cannot be stabilized: the camera writes its gyroscope data only when it stops recording, at the end of the file, so a recording cut off before that never had it, and no repair can bring it back. Insta360 recordings only.
Clips are offline in your editor after changing the drive location: relink them to the new folder in your editor.
Playback stutters: make sure your editor plays the proxies (Prefer Proxies in DaVinci Resolve) and that each proxy file is next to its recording. Full-resolution 8K playback is not real time. 10-bit recordings play more slowly on graphics cards that cannot decode 10-bit HEVC.
A settings change does not show: your editor may still show frames it read earlier. In DaVinci Resolve, choose Playback, Delete Render Cache, All. Otherwise move to another part of the timeline and back, or reopen the clip.
The drive misbehaves: Restart drive, under Troubleshooting in System settings, restarts it without closing the app.
Export fails: the graphics card formats need the card's hardware video encoder. Choose a CPU format under Video format.
A component seems missing: ☰, Dependencies check shows which components were found.
